TEHRAN (FNA)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei asked the Iranian officials to stay united against plots hatched by enemies specially the US, to force the country to surrender.

“Today, the front of enemies, that the most devil and ugliest of them is the US, has used all its political, economic and propaganda power to bring the strong Iranian nation to its knees,” Ayatollah Khamenei said on Sunday, addressing a virtual meeting with Iranian lawmakers.

“Under such conditions, even despite differences in tastes and views inside the country, we should remain hand in hand and say one word against the enemy which talks nonsense,” he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei underlined the need for the Iranian lawmakers and officials to resolve the country’s key problems in such areas as increasing production, lowering unemployment, improving management of the monetary and financial system and decreasing dependence on oil revenues, and said increasing housing and birth rates are other issues which require more concentrated attention and efforts.

"The economic problems of a country are like a disease. But due to its strong endurance, Iran surely has the power to overcome this disease. Today the enemies admit that despite the harshest sanctions and widespread pressures, they have failed to achieve their objectives against Iran," he added.

In relevant remarks last month, Ayatollah Khamenei had also asked the Judiciary to make utmost efforts to seriously continue fight against corruption based on the country's laws.

"Fighting against corruption is at its peak in this era and it should continue without tolerance and based on righteousness, justice, law and without violence and oppression against the innocent," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing the National Conference of the Judiciary via a video conference.

"One of the main responsibilities of the Judiciary is fighting corruption in any form. Fighting corruption should start from the Judiciary in a serious and expert manner. The criteria in fighting corruption should only be the truth, justice and law, and no other considerations," he added.

The Leader underscored the need for taking care of the country in all fields, including against the enmities of the evil US and evil Britain and the measures adopted by the European governments, and said if the officials act well upon their responsibilities, the enemies will fail and their attempts to bring the Iranian nation to its knee will backfire and they will be pushed back.
