Iranian Speaker slams intl bodies’ silence over Israeli crimes

Tehran, May 19, IRNA – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, in a phone call with his Kuwaiti counterpart on Wednesday, castigated international bodies for keeping silent on the crimes committed by the Israeli regime.

As part of his phone conversations with parliament speakers of Islamic countries, Qalibaf telephoned Marzouq Ali al-Ghanim, the speaker of Kuwait National Assembly, to discuss recent crime by the Israeli regime against Palestinian people.

Pointing to ‘unbridled’ behavior of the Israeli regime in light of the US support, Qalibaf said that slaughtering of Palestinian women and children has been a common agony for Muslim states, but it is surprising that international bodies, humanitarian entities and the United Nations has been tight-lipped about the crimes committed by the Israeli regime.

Condemning round-the-clock bombing of Gaza and killing defenseless people in the West Bank, Qalibaf called on all Muslims around the globe to do more to annihilate the cancerous tumor – the Israeli regime.

He also urged strengthening of ties between Iran and Kuwait on different areas, including parliamentary ties.

In the phone conversation, Al-Ghanim described interactions between Iran and Kuwait as always excellent and underscored that the Kuwaiti government welcomed expansion of ties.

He also described recent incidents in Gaza and the West Bank as a crime against Muslims in the region, saying that preserving the unity among Islamic countries against the Zionist regime atrocities is a religious, humane and moral duty.

Al-Ghanim underlined that the government and people of Kuwait appreciate holding any meeting and initiative to support Palestinian people.
