Vaezi lauds Iran-Azerbaijan strategic relations

Tehran, May 31, IRNA - Head of Iran's Presidential Office Mahmoud Vaezi in a meeting with Azerbaijan Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mostafayev hailed strategic relations between two countries in all fields.

Vaezi reviewed implementation of agreements between Iran and Azerbaijan and stressed reinforcing cooperation in line with both nations’ interests.

Both sides also underlined accelerating implementation of joint projects in energy and transportation fields.

He pointed to historical and cultural commonalities between Iran and Azerbaijan, saying relations between the two countries have been developed in all fields.

Iran has stood by Azeri government and nation in all sensitive conditions and has established strong ties with Azerbaijan.

Vaezi welcomed the opportunity which has been created for resuming projects which were stopped due to US’ cruel sanctions.  

He called for finding and implementing initiatives.

Meanwhile, Mostafayev said reinforcing ties with Iran is a priority in Azerbaijan's foreign policy, adding the senior officials’ will has been effective in promoting bilateral relations.

Iran and Azerbaijan enjoy various capacities for developing cooperation in energy, transportation, industry, agriculture, and tourism fields.

Despite obstacles caused by COVID-19 pandemic, both sides are determined to activate these capacities, he noted.
