Tehran, June 13, IRNA – The head of Iran-China Chamber of Commerce said that moving forward Tehran-Beijing cooperation in the framework of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) would be beneficial for both sides.
In an interview with Chinese news agency Xinhua on Sunday, Majid-Reza Hariri said such cooperation can help Iran’s infrastructure, especially in transportation including roads, railways, ports and airports.
Iran’s contribution to the BRI can also create job opportunities and development in its mining sector, he said, adding that Iran’s ideal geographical location serves as its most important advantage in joining the initiative, as it connects East and West Asia both through land and the sea.
Hariri also highlighted Iran’s good ties with its neighbor in east and west of the country that can be leveraged to the fullest to accelerate implementation of the initiative.
Being in connection with China and the Chinese people for almost 40 years, Hariri said that Iranians and Chinese have the capacity to work together and be friends due to their characteristics.
He hailed China’s Communist Party, saying that the current development and progress in China couldn’t be reached with the Communist Party.
