Tehran, June 13, IRNA – The head of National Iranian Gas Company for gas distribution affairs said 98% of Iranian cities enjoy natural gas.
Despite problems caused by coronavirus, National Iranian Gas Company could set a new record with regard to gas distribution in urban, rural, and industrial areas during the last Iranian calendar year (ending on 20 March 2021), Gholam Reza Mashayekhi said.
Accordingly, 98% of urban areas and 85% of rural population enjoy natural gas, he added.
Some 2,918 villages, 23 cities and 6,500 production and industrial units joined gas distribution network last year, he noted.
