Tehran, IRNA – Spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry Saeed Khatibzadeh said that Iran has always respected Iraq’s territorial integrity and this policy wouldn’t change.
Khatibzadeh said on Saturday that raising the flag of Iraqi Kurdistan Region during the official reception of Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Thursday was a mistake made by the reception team in the airport.
Iran has always respected Iraq’s territorial integrity and this is a unchangeable policy, he added.
Head of Iraqi Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani traveled to Iran to attend the inauguration of Iran's new President Ebrahim Raisi.
