New IRNA chief: IRNA a great asset, news agency of system

Speaking at the introduction ceremony of himself on Monday, October 11, Ali Naderi said that some people introduce IRNA as the government’s news agency, but the viewpoint and emphasis of the minister of culture and Islamic guidance is that IRNA is the entire system’s news agency and is viewed beyond a governmental organization.

Also present at the introduction ceremony were the Deputy Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister for Media Affairs Farshad Mehdipoor, and the advisor to Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister and Director-general of the Ministry’s Ministerial Affairs Mohammad Shalooie. The ceremony was held at the IRNA headquarters.

The IRNA managing director emphasized that the priority of President Ebrahim Raisi’s government is further promotion of justice, campaign against corruption, and resolving the people’s problems, while in the foreign relations field his government’s policy is crisis resolving.

“The people have hopes in this government, and we consider it a responsibility for ourselves to assist it, and not to let down the people’s hopes,” he added.

The culture and Islamic guidance minister in a state order issued on Monday morning appointed Ali Naderi as the new IRNA managing director.

In Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili’s state order addressed to Ali Naderi it is said: Due to your competence and your precious experience, and knowing about your good self’s revolutionary and ethical attitude in culture and media fields, and with an eye on the ratification of the IRNA General Assembly, according to this state order you are appointed as the managing director of the Islamic Republic News Agency.

When Ebrahim Raisi was the judiciary chief, Ali Naderi was the Judiciary Force Public Relations managing director, commissioned to arrange for the media reporters’ meeting with that organization.

Before that he was the deputy production chief of the IRIB’s Ofoq channel, an advisor to the IRIB Political Director Peyman Jebeli, the media affairs official of the Experts Assembly, and the editor in chief of the TV program Jahan Ara.

Naderi who is 38 years old and holds an MA in political affairs is now a PhD student majoring in cultural policy making.

He is a renowned university student activist and has been in the media field for two decades. Naderi entered the editorial board of Iran newspaper (Iran online), the caretaker of Iran newspaper office in Isfahan, and a member of the policy making and editorial board councils of Raja News agency, among his media activities.

IRNA’s former managing director, Mohammad Reza Norouzpur was heading the news agency since June 7, 2020.
