Khatibzadeh also said that Iran, as one of the three guarantors of peace in Astana talks, underlines the need for such human measures to continue.
Elaborating on the prisoners' swap operation in Syria, he said that the extradition was carried out by Syria's Red Crescent Society and the International Red Cross on December 17 under the supervision of Iran and Syria.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that a total of 10 prisoners were extradited from the Syrian side and the militants.
