Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in his meeting with Hassan Kazemi Qomi and his accompanying delegation announced Pakistan’s strong commitment for restoration of peace and stability in Afghanistan, and ensuring that country’s advancement and prosperity.
He said that close Iran-Pakistan cooperation on issues related to Afghanistan, including management of the refugees’ affairs, ensuring the security of the region, and proceeding with establishment of foundation to ensure close mutual cooperation is of great importance.
The Pakistani foreign minister, meanwhile, said that the Iranian and Pakistani nations’ close religious, social, historical and cultural ties necessitate further expansion of comprehensive cooperation.
The special envoy of the Iranian president, for his part, said in the meeting that the constructive role played by Pakistan in Afghanistan is praiseworthy, stressing that restoration of peace and stability in Afghanistan is the prerequisite for the long-term regional peace and prosperity.
Hassan Kazemi Qomi added that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan and favors their comprehensive expansion.
